The origins of Toyota Motor Company date back to 1926, when Sakishi Toyota started the Toyota Industries Company. The history of the company, which operated in the textile industry, dates back to the beginning of the twentieth century, when it operated as a spinning mill. Sakishi Toyoda, who, like his father, sold carpets for many years, started the factory and in 1894 invented and built an industrial knitting machine.

Sakishi built its fully automatic version in 1924, and two years later, Toyota’s automatic spinning mill, under the name Toyota Industries, was established. His curious and talented son, Kishiro Toyoda, who graduated in mechanical engineering from Tokyo University in 1929, worked at his father’s factory, but all his attention was focused on building car engines.

In 1929, an agreement was signed with the Plott Brothers from the United Kingdom for industrial spinning and weaving machinery. Under the agreement, the right to manufacture and sell automatic knitting machines was given to countries other than Japan (such as China and the United States) for. 100,000, after which Kishiro left for the United States. Of course, Kishiro had other goals from this trip. During negotiations with the Plott brothers, he became fascinated with cars in the West. It was during this trip that he made his decision to enter the automotive industry.

In 1930, Kishiro began researching diesel engines. Kishiro consulted with the company’s chairman, Risaburo, about his future plans. Most importantly, the government was openly pursuing policies to advance the auto industry. It was not long before Risaburo agreed, and Kishiro set up a car department in 1933 in a small part of his father’s spinning mill. His goal was to produce cars suitable for the Japanese conditions, while also considering the positive points of foreign cars.

Toyota’s first car factory opened in 1935, and the following year the Toyota logo was changed to Toyota. A year later, in 1937, Toyota Motor Company was officially opened. Thus, one of the most successful spinning mills in Japan became a car factory between the two world wars with a change of orientation. Kishiro Toyoda’s efforts led to the establishment of new factories from the heart of his father’s factory.

Kishiro himself initially served as the vice president of the new company, which in 1941 became CEO. Immediately after the launch of the new company, new management principles were applied in the management and management of the factory.

In 1938, the JIT system became operational. Two years later, the Toyota Research Institute opened. In 1951, Toyota’s creative ideas system was activated. 1973 The design center and the following year the Toyota Training Center are opened by Kishiro.

Toyota’s first commercial product was the 1.5-ton G1 truck. During World War II, the entire factory was owned by the war and produced trucks for the Japanese army. Toyota was not allowed to produce cars until a few years after the end of the war.

In 1952, with Kishiro’s death, his cousin Eji Toyota took over the company. Eiji, along with Kishiro’s son, Toyota Shui Shiro, and in the years that followed, made Toyota one of the world’s largest automakers. Toyota Technical Center opened in the United States in 1977, and in 1984 Toyota partnered with General Motors in the United States. After Eiji, Taichi Ono was in charge of the company and worked hard to establish Toyota’s production system, publishing the Toyota Guidelines in 1992.

Today, Toyota is the world’s largest automaker, producing everything from small vehicles to large trucks in a variety of models. Toyota has also been involved in a variety of telecommunications services – prefabricated homes and yachts.

At first glance, the logo of Toyota Japan looks like a cowboy wearing a large hat, but in reality the logo is three oval shapes that depict the heart of the customer, the heart of the product and technological advances, and Toyota’s limitless possibilities. In Japanese, “Toyo” means “abundance” and “ta” means rice.

In some Asian cultures, the abundance of rice is believed to bring wealth. When the company was founded in 1937, the Toyota name was chosen instead of the Toyota name (surname of the founder of Toyota) for three reasons:

1) It showed that the founder of Toyota has separated his work life from his family life.

2) It was easier to pronounce.

3) In the Katakana language, writing Toyota was done with eight strokes of the pen, and the number eight was pleasant for the Japanese, while writing Toyota required 10 strokes of the pen.
